Harvey Dix

Executive Director

Harvey has a long history in the York / Simcoe Region having met his wife, Gail on the job and eventually marrying, they have lived in the area for most of their lives. Over the years they have enjoyed raising a family in a wonderful small town atmosphere, volunteering in as many of their children`s activities as possible.

Harvey has over 20 years of experience in engineering and project management with Magna International and has operated Retire-At-Home Services in the York / South Simcoe Region for the past 8 years. Harvey possesses a true passion for building lasting relationships and helping others and is excited to bring the same great service that his Retire-At-Home clients have come to know to The Memories+ Adult Program and Wellness Centre.

Anna Malfara

Director of Care

Anna is a nurse with over eighteen years of experience, much of which have been working with older adults in the community. Her strong gerontology background, working closely with clients living with cognitive challenges and her specialization in Parkinson’s has led to her passion of providing supportive care and resources to clients and their loved ones in the community.

Anna is an active member of the Gerontological Nursing Association of Ontario and the Canadian Gerontological Nursing Association. Currently Anna holds the co-chair position for the Prevention of Elder Abuse Committee of York Region. Her commitment to life long learning is demonstrated as she strives to keep current and provide educational opportunities in the community.

Lisa Gordon

Program Manager

Lisa will be covering the role of Program Manager while Olivia is on maternity leave.

Lisa Gordon is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and received her B.A from York University in Sociology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Recreation Therapy from Georgian College. Lisa worked in both clinical and community settings as a Recreation Therapist in Seattle and Edmonton before returning back to Toronto. A Laughter Therapy seminar at the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association conference proved pivotal. Inspired, Lisa became a Certified Laughter Leader.  Lisa has a passion for bringing meaningful, fun, and effective fitness to seniors to help maintain quality of life and engagement and holds her Active Aging Certificate, Tiered Exercise Program Trainer, will receive her DrumFit certificate in July 2019, and will be starting her Strong U Senior Fitness Certification Training in August 2019.

Olivia Sedore

Program Manager

Olivia is currently away on maternity leave.

Olivia is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and holds an Honours Bachelor of Therapeutic Recreation and a Diploma in Social Service Work.  Having worked with seniors in long term care, retirement, hospitals, day programs and community settings, she strives to bring together the strengths from each industry.

Olivia has a strong passion for recreation and sees a great importance in offering therapeutic and meaningful activities that enhance overall wellness and quality of life. She believes in celebrating everyone’s abilities and enjoying the small things in life. Olivia has a passion for art and enjoys drawing, painting and crafting. She is excited to share her skills with the day program members and facilitate fun and inclusive art sessions.

Alicia Barrant-Smith

Personal Support Worker

Alicia has been in the medical field for over 18 years now. She was working as a Receptionist and now as a Personal Support Worker. She’s transitioned over to Personal Support Worker by the experience of working with her 90-year old grandmother. She has developed the love of taking care of her so then decided to venture into the field. She enjoys learning and continually striving to improve her skills. Alicia is a wife and a mother of 2 boys. She has a love for interior and landscaping.
